In the week of July 21 to 24, a sailboat will be rented to explore the Wadden Sea together with Honours students from different universities and HBOs. Read the invitation below to find out how you can join. Please note that the deadline to sign up is April 29.
Dear Honours Student,
The Honours Programmes of 8 different Academic Institutes (3 universities and 5 HBOs) joined forces and set up an activity with students and teachers to experience ‘the Wadden Sea’. In the week of 17-24 July 2021, a flat bottom sailing boat (the Utopia) with room for 36 participants (3 students and 1 teacher per institute) will be rented for a week and explore the Wadden Sea. We will live, sleep, work, relax, learn and explore on board, on the islands, on the Wad. Broadening, deepening, boundary crossing, enriching and connecting topics related to the Waddenzee, and to the participants will form the programme. Each institute will organize a workshop for the other participants and together we will build this week.
Of course, in 2021 it is not possible to organize a week like this without thinking about covid. We will not go ahead if the situation and the regulations do not allow to spend one week together on the ship. We are looking into the possibilities and one option we are currently exploring is to organize the week as a Fieldlab event.
There is room for 3 honours students from Utrecht University. If you are interested and able to join from 17-24 July, please send a mail with a brief motivation (150-200 words) to: firstname.lastname@example.org before April 29. The costs are 100 euro per participant (excursion fee).
