Important dates 2024/2025

Dear (new) Honours students,

Welcome to the new academic year, 2024/2025! It promises to be an enriching year of learning for many of you. For students attending the HHP (both year 1 and year 2), it is now part of the portfolio requirement to attend at least 5 meetings related to the honours community. In addition to smaller meetings and excursions, plenary sessions and curriculum committee talks (OC) also count. Below are some key dates for the upcoming academic year that you can mark in your calendar:

Tuesday, October 22: For first-year HHP students, the first major event of the year is at the end of block 1. This will be held to wrap up the first block of terrain exploration. Each domain will present what they have done in the first block of the course, and afterward, there will be pizza. This event will be organized by first-year HHP students, so if you’re interested, feel free to sign up for the committee via studentassistenthhp.gw@uu.nl!

Friday, November 1: To celebrate the start of a new honours year, the Honours College invites you to the annual Kick-Off. Here, the entire UU honours community will gather for a festive evening!

Tuesday, January 21: To close out the two blocks of terrain exploration, there will be a plenary session where students will present their projects from block 2 to their teachers and peers. The evening will be complete with a guest speaker and drinks afterward.

Tuesday, June 17: For second-year HHP students, the academic year will conclude with the thesis meeting. All students will present their honours theses in the form of a poster presentation.

Additional important dates and further information will follow. We hope to see many (new) faces from the program at these events!

Important: Attendance at HHP plenary meetings is still mandatory. If you are unable to attend, you must notify us at humanitieshonours@uu.nl with a legitimate reason.
